Thanks to Northwood Social Studies teacher, Jon Mall, and a Foundation Grant, 7th grade students at Elm Place and Northwood were treated to a morning they will not forget on May 24. Peter and Gabriel, two men who escaped the Sudan as Lost Boys in the late 1990s, shared their powerful stories of personal struggle and perseverance. Students were invited to ask the men questions and to learn about their experience during that difficult time, and since their arrival in the United States 17 years ago.
