Historically the Drive for Education vehicle sticker upgrade program was the mainstay of the 112 Education Foundation’s fundraising efforts. Thanks to the support and cooperation of the City of Highland Park and the City of Highwood, sales of these colorful vehicle stickers enable the Foundation to fund dozens of Foundation Grant program each year. We are grateful for the cities of Highland Park and Highwood for their support of the Foundation through the vehicle sticker program. However, with both cities’ recent decisions to discontinue vehicle stickers, the Foundation’s primary source of funding has been eliminated.
Your support permits the 112 Education Foundation to fund several signature programs, including the Robot Revolution robotics program, Author Visits and the Reel 112 Film Festival, along with our Foundation Grant program, which provides resources to support education enhancement opportunities. In 2019-2020, the Foundation funded grant programs in every District 112 school including:
- Electric instruments for the middle school orchestras
- Service-learning opportunities, such as annual the Day of Giving hosted by Northwood Junior High School and Me to WE programs in multiple schools
- Organic and sensory gardening programs
- Environmental science experiential learning opportunities
- Collaborative poetry workshops and poetry slam presentations
- Master acting class featuring a Broadway in Chicago actor
- In-house field trip opportunities for students at Green Bay School
- Programs with Lost Boys of Sudan and other refugees
