FUNd Run Mission Statement
Mission Statement
The mission of the FUNd Run is to raise money for the benefit of children within District 112 who are financially unable to pay for enrichment programs that other children in the district can enjoy. The goal is to expose these children to enriching opportunities in areas such as art, music, culture, and sports, knowing that these experiences will have a positive impact and may help shape a child’s future.
The money raised goes into a scholarship fund and is distributed to children residing in Highland Park or Highwood. Scholarships are awarded to children of financial need (defined as those that qualify to participate in the federal free and reduced lunch program) so that they can participate in enrichment activities that are held at the schools. Enrichment activities include school programs such as band and orchestra (instrument rental), outdoor education (off-site team-building field trips for junior high), and after school enrichment programs such as chess and art.
