RAVINIA!  Congratulations to the Raccoons, and their librarian, Eric Lau, on a tremendous iRead.  Ravinia children read an average of over 1100 minutes per student during the course of the event to beat out four-time winner Sherwood, and claim the top spot in the District.  Ravinia principal, Courtney Nordstrom, and Ravinia librarian, Erin Lau, surprised students and staff at an all-school assembly with the exciting news on March 15.  The 112 Education Foundation’s iRead program encourages reading across District 112.  Over the four week program, elementary students read almost 1,480,000 minutes.  Through sponsorships from students’ family and friends, the 2019 iRead program raised over $25,000.  The funds raised will primarily support the Foundation’s Author Visit program, which brings professional authors to every D112 school for enrichment programming.
