2019 Reel 112 Film Festival
On Monday, May 6, District 112 middle school filmmakers and their families gathered at the Landmark Renaissance Place Theater in Highland Park for the 4th annual Reel 112 Film Festival, where students walked the red carpet in advance of the film screening. The event featured 12 films created by teams of middle school filmmakers from Edgewood Middle School and Northwood Junior High School. The evening included a pre-recorded address from Milos Stehlik, Founder of Facets Multimedia and regular film contributor on WBEZ, and a congratulatory message from Congressman Brad Schneider. Student films focused on critical issues such as school shootings, and the impact of standardized testing and social media on young people’s lives.
