Mrs. Burton’s 5th Grade Class has been selected to participate in TECH 2016 on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the State Capitol Building in Springfield! This is the 25th anniversary of this event, and Mrs. Burton’s students are one of the 103 school teams selected from throughout the state to participate in this day-long event. They will share the work they’ve done with coding using their Chromebooks and a robotic device called Sphero SPRK. Students built their own little cities, connecting geography to CCSS Math and ELA goals. They inspire engagement, collaboration, and creativity as connected 21st century learners. Mrs. Burton was able to purchase the Spheros through a 112 Foundation Grant. Good luck 5th graders!
