On December 11th, Lincoln’s 4th and 5th graders performed original Blues Musicals as a culminating performance of Janet Lubetkin’s Red, White and Blues Foundation Grant. Students worked with lyricist/playwright Matt Boresi and composer Rachel Page from the Music Institute of Chicago to write the stories and songs in conjunction with their study of American history. The Fourth grade original Blues Musical was entitled, “Fido Howls the Blues,” and the Fifth Grade Blues Musical was entitled, “Making Tracks: The Puny Joe Tracks Story.”
